  • Tenaya Smith

    DSP Lead

I am reaching out to share my extensive experience working with individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges for over a decade. Throughout the past 10 years, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, challenging behaviors, nonverbal communication needs, dementia, and mobility limitations. This work has allowed me to develop a strong foundation of knowledge, practical skills, and compassionate care in the field.

In my previous role as a Program Director in Las Vegas, I managed and supervised four residential homes serving individuals with disabilities and mental health needs. I was responsible for overseeing their daily care, ensuring their safety, and supporting their overall well-being. In addition to managing residential care, I actively contributed to our Day Program, where I coordinated daily activities and helped create a supportive, engaging environment for program participants.

Recently, I relocated from Las Vegas to Stone Mountain, and I remain deeply committed to serving individuals with special needs. My passion for this work is driven by a strong belief in empathy, advocacy, and the power of genuine care. I take great satisfaction in helping individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive, knowing they are cared for by professionals who are dedicated to their well-being.

  • Mia

    DSP (Direct Support Professional)

I used to be a professional woman. After getting married, I moved to the United States and opened my own restaurant. When my child was 8 months old, she was diagnosed with epilepsy caused by a genetic mutation. At that time, my husband was not around, so I had to search for treatment on my own. Eventually, when she was five and a half, her health became just like any other healthy child. During those five and a half years, I never had a full night’s sleep and kept a detailed record of her progress every day.

In 2018, I returned to the U.S. from China and started caring for my child full-time. Through that experience, I came into contact with people with special needs. I understand that caring for them requires more time and patience than usual, and I’ve gained professional knowledge in areas like first aid and nursing. Therefore, I have a strong desire to help more families so their children can receive the best possible care.
