Youth Development Program
The Youth Development Program (YDP) is part of True Love’s Community Service Program. It provides free community-based opportunities for children, youth, families, and volunteers to grow together through learning, service, inclusion, and community engagement.
The program supports children and youth with special needs by creating meaningful opportunities for social participation, skill development, tutoring, volunteer-led clubs, workshops, family activities, and inclusive community events. At the same time, it encourages youth volunteers to build compassion, responsibility, leadership, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Through the Youth Development Program, True Love brings families, youth, volunteers, and community partners together to create a supportive environment where individuals with special needs can be themselves, participate with dignity, and thrive in the community.
Life Intervention Program
The Life Intervention Program (LIP) is a family-engaged peer buddy program within True Love’s Community Service Program. It provides free community-based support for individuals with special needs and their families by connecting families, peer buddies, volunteers, and professional guidance around meaningful life-skills goals.
The Life Intervention Program is not only an independent program, but also a guiding philosophy that supports True Love’s broader work. Its family-centered, real-life, and skill-building approach is also applied within the Youth Development Program and the Adult Care Center, helping participants practice meaningful skills across different settings.
In this program, families help identify practical goals that matter in daily life, such as communication, social participation, emotional regulation, self-care, household routines, community engagement, money skills, and other independence-building activities. Peer buddies and volunteers support participants through friendly, respectful, and real-life practice in natural settings such as home, community, and daily routines.
The goal of the Life Intervention Program is to help each person build confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in family and community life through family engagement, peer connection, and gradual skill development.
